Friday's Post

I said on the first day that I am a geek and would probably really enjoy this class. I have enjoyed all of the discussions and research we have done this week. A lot of what we have discussed does not really apply to my class, except for the low stakes writing. My students could really benefit from knowing that their writing is important just because it's their own personal writing.

Ideas that I liked from class are the hamburger theory and the kernal paragraph.

I liked those types of writing too. We can all benefit from using the low stakes writing, I think.

I liked the hamburger theory as well. I think that I will try to use it in my classroom next year.

I must be a geek too, because I really enjoyed this class. I also liked the hamburger theory and plan on using it this coming school year.

As a first grade teacher I will strongly encourage you to do more
low stakes writing. If they already have the concept it will make their life and mine much better. tell your other kindergarten friends the news!

Oh now Alyson, the kernel could be used in K. Just start with one sentence and progress to three or four.
