reflecting on "low-stakes" writing

I found the info. on low-stakes writing this morning to be very informative. It is very clear to me just how important it is to include this type of writing into the curriculum. The activities we were shown in order to do this with our students were interesting. I like the microthemes.

Definitely informative, I agree! I am thinking of using some of these ideas with my students too. Microthemes can be a time filler if needed and also informative to see if they were paying attention.

It soundslike you have been doing lots of good low-stakes writing in your room already. The ideas you found about the journaling sounded really neat. I think that even my first graders could and would benifit from them.
